Waiting for Sims3 I was quite surprised to read in simtimes.de, that today 3 final downloads were released by EA for Sims2.
They are freely available on www.diesims.de/pages.view_page.asp?id=757 and are meant to build a kind of bridge from Sims2 to Sims3, so you could actually pretend that your sims are moving from one game to another.

First is a calendar on which the release date for Sims3 is marked red.
Second is some luggage in gray with a green plumbbob.
Last is a map of Sunset Valley.
All three purely decorative, I suppose.

I just downloaded them, they are zip-files, nothing indicating they might not be Maxis-made.

I haven't checked if they are also available on the US site.
But seeing that the date on the calendar is in German, this might be some special.

Nice find. Smile

They actually did a very similar thing for The Sims 1, just before the release of The Sims 2. The Thrifty Second-Hand Dormroom Furniture set for The Sims 1 was released just before The Sims 2 was released.

Interesting to note that it's all university dorm related stuff, even though The Sims 2: University wasn't anywhere close to being announced at the time. Wink

I particulary like the new luggage though, as I'm sure that I'll make Sims 3 versions of some of my Sims 2 characters, so in a sense they will be moving house!  Very Happy

- 1 Poster "Sunset Valley Sunset"
- Bedsheets "Dreams in Green"
- A lamp consisting of Plumbbobs on sticks

As much as I love free objects.
It seems so redundant to offer these at such at late time in The Sims 2's lifespan...

Now if we could get plenty of free downloads for The Sims 3, that would be a different matter! Wink
