It's possible...
However as giggy6004 said, the problem lies in the fact that there's no available animations within The Sims 2 that are associated with the pet show objects.

I've no idea if there's any way to transfer the animations over or what it would take to write the animations from scratch, however considering we've yet to see any pet show objects for the Sims 2 surface anywhere yet... It's probably safe to assume that it's *very* difficult.

Another problem is that each object has it's own associated skill bar and training methods that go with them. Again that's an entirely new database full of code which probably isn't compatible with The Sims 2.

So quite honestly I doubt we'll be seeing these objects put into The Sims 2 by anyone other than Maxis themselves, however since there's been no mention of Maxis creating anymore pet related content for The Sims 2, it's unlikely we'll ever see them.

At best the only foreseeable way I can see these objects in The Sims 2 is as user created static decorations and nothing more.

Although if someone can prove me wrong, that would be awesome. Very Happy

I was unable to get Pet Stories to run past chapter two, so I looked into the file packages and discovered some are labeled Exp 6.

Bon Voyage is being released next month, so I am expecting some of these items will then be portable into the Sims 2 game or be part of Bon Voyage. Since pets if I am correct will not be going on vacation, the training items probable will not make this expansion pack and decorational may be our only avenue for having them in our game. Still it would look really cool to see the items in a park.

I would like to see the vending machine myself, as it would work great on community lots for serving food and be more realistic in employee break rooms.
