Sims 2 Apartment Life NewsOfficial Apartment Life details have now been added to thesims2.com and the first batch of previews have been released by fansites.
Personally I think this expansion pack is looking very promising, however I'm sure you will all have your own opinion on the 8th expansion.

Just a remakeif you take a good look at edenstyle's description of the EP, it is a remake of 3 games, and i am definitely not impressed.
Just like University your neighbors are NPC's, and their apartments disappear behind thier door unless you visit of course. you have to "claim" your door to your apartment. Items in build and buy mode are not available. Secret Witch lots, just like the Secret Society. Of course like BV, there are also secret greetings to go with the different Sects you wish to join.
Just like makin Magic except for the brooms. you have goodies to get from vendors (witches). i am sure they will make you jump through hoops to get certain items, jsut like they did in MM. If you did not own all of the games, the EP itself was no fun. I had them all, but those who didnt found it very hard to do.
URBZ - This is a classic remake of URBZ, which failed miserably. Everything in it, down to making friends more difficult to gain, due to reputation. Reputation made it difficult to get a job, difficult to get friends if your Sims dont like someone, difficult to make any money or even have any fun.
Looks like EAxis ran out of ideas, or did their writers go on strike too?

I know what you mean!
When I first got The Sims 2 on it's release, I can remember playing it and thinking that the graphics were a huge improvement but item-wise in comparison with Sims 1 + *all* expansions... It just felt so "empty".
Although I was very pleased to see that items could have multiple colours now, so overall it was an improvement however I knew that it would need some expansions to add some variety to it.
So I wonder if I'll feel the same when I first begin playing The Sims 3...

Apartment Life should be the last expansion pack for Sims 2, unfortunately...

Don't you mean fortunately? EAxis has managed to kill another Sims fan, I'm sick of buying expansions. When TS3 comes out I'm not getting it.
At this point it's like they're trying to milk the series for all it's worth, if Will Wright was dead he'd be rolling in his grave right now.

Notice this phrase in my original post?
It means that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, it's not for me or anyone else to say whether it's right or wrong.
So of course I'm not offended by what you said and I would hope that no-one else is either. Neither myself or any of the other admin/mods are here to censor personal opinions, so you should all feel freely to speak your mind about the topics raised.
(Within certain behaviour and language restrictions of course, this is after all a forum for all ages.)
Don't get me wrong, I can certainly see how a game with so many expansion and stuff packs could frustrate the fans on a limited budget or with a lower spec computer. So therefore I personally would never stop anyone from making those types of complaints, since as a consumer you're more than entitled to make them.
On a related note, I must admit at the moment a small pet hate of mine is when I read the forums regarding the new Sims store with downloadable content and people claim that EA/Maxis are "forcing" them to pay and download new content for their games. However that's more due to their choice of wording, it is very frustrating that there's all this new content and you personally may not be able to afford it but in no way are EA "forcing" the pay-per-downloads on you.
Again though, that's their opinion and it's not for me to judge...
I just don't like that particular wording of it though, since it's totally inaccurate.
And yet... People can't wait for the GTA IV purchasable downloadable content... But that's another discussion altogether... But it just goes to show that EA aren't the first and certainly won't be the last to offer downloadable content.
