HotRod Hauler No Longer A Pre-Order Exclusive...Well...In a rather random move by EA, it appears as though they've released the HotRod Hauler Chop Socky Special as a normal download for those who are registered with the website: http://thesims2.ea.com/exchange/object_detail.php?asset_id=519 If I had to guess it's probably some cheap move to help promote the car restoration facility in Freetime, without the need of putting the effort into making a brand new download. Have a feeling that's going to upset a few customers though who feel that they're being cheated out of their pre-order "exclusive", now that anyone can download it officially from www.thesims2.com ... And of course it then begs the question... Well why can't we have the rest of the pre-order "exclusives" for free?

Lame. I wish they would just kill TS2 and start TS3.
In other news, im reinstalling TS2, for some unknown reason. I might just use the base game only. |

I guess it is a mixture between that and the fact the HotRod was always on the exchange. Every time a lot with the car was deleted, three more were uploaded to replace it. I doubt Maxis will release all 35 bonuses for The Sims 2 because people will start to think "I won't pre-order it because they'll release the bonuses eventually" and then the stores would be wasting their money paying Maxis for the bonuses. Though, this could also be a move to trick people into posting links to other websites that host the bonuses. There have been dozens of posts made in the last hour of people asking for links to websites like this one. And it only takes one idiot to post the link and then the jig is up.

Is it really 35? You know I've just never taken the time to count them... That's about a 1/4 of a Stuff Pack on "bonuses" alone. Although that doesn't include all the other items released for promotional purposes, add them altogether and I'm sure it's a vast collection of "bonus" material, which quite frankly any Sims player should have access to since they own the game.

Yup, and that doesn't include the Sims Stories bonuses or the upcoming Freetime/Interior design bonuses. |

Yep I agree with all of you, I think that EA should just give the bonus when we register or something like that, this pre-order way is just dumb and I myself like sharing whatever bonus I get and I have seen quite a few posts at the BBS of people that were ticked about EA putting the Hot Rod up and I have seen people putting up threads with address to sites that has the bonus and I want so bad to post don't do that but of course I can't, that would just draw more attention. | ||
