Has anyone got the welcome package for Castaway Stories?Like these three objects: http://sims.yahoo.com/downloads/castawaystories ?BTW, are these three objects already in Sims 2? |

I don't have Castaway Storie yet, but these objects are in Sims2 already.
The "Head Hunter's Battle Mask" and the "Wilted love" are in the Seasons EP, the "The Gourd of Oversized Dreams" is in the Happy Holidays SP.

The files for the 3 items have yet to be uploaded, even though the preview pics and object descriptions are up. Been a few days now actually... Although I'm sure the smart web designers that work for EA will figure it out eventually... 
Oh and can anyone tell me where in the catalogue I can located The Gourd of Oversized Dreams and at what price it's marked at? Just I've looked over and over and can't find it listed anywhere in my game... The closest item to it that I've been able to find is the Little Jug of Wishes. |

Hmmm... that means it's a bigger edition of the object. So this is the only one, that needed to be converted to Sims2 I gope it will be simple, as the lamp and the picture from P/LS.

Well we'll find out once EA gets round to finally uploading the items...
But you're quite right, I think it's simply going to be a re-size of the Little Jug of Wishes. I do wish EA would make some brand new items as opposed to just re-releasing Sims 2 stuff for The Sims Stories and claiming them as new, exclusive downloads. Or better yet! Do it the other way round... Re-release the exclusive Sims Stories stuff so that it can be used in the original Sims 2! As that's the way everyone wants it! |

Sounds like a nice idea. But EA usually won't listen to us coz this will make ppl not buy any Sims Stories games. Do you remember what happened when Mod The Sims 2 released a convertion package of Life Stories objects for Sims 2? And even back to the times of Sims 1, ppl were also asking for The Sims Online objects to be used in Sims 1, Maxis turned a complete deaf ear to them... I bet you all know how mean EA or Maxis actually are now... |

They certainly are taking their time to upload those 3 downloads. Although I've got to say that I'm curious as to how well the Castaway files will convert to The Sims 2. Just that Castaway Stories doesn't have Simoleans as it's in-game currency, items are worth "Resource Points". I'd assume that most likely the Resource Points would convert to the same value of Simoleons, however there's only one way to find out... (Once we can actually download the items that is. )

Oooh... Think this is the first time I've ever quoted myself... 
Anyway just a little thing I discovered when playing Castaway Stories earlier. When I tried the "motherlode" cheat to see if it worked, it gave me 50,000 Resource Points. Which leads me to believe that Simoleons was just plain translated to Resource Points. So perhaps the objects would show up in The Sims 2 for an equal amount of Simoleons as they do Resource Points in Castaway Stories. |

You need to use SimPE to modify the file. Not that because the object prices are not in Simoleans but beacuse Castaway's objects use a different categorizing system, the objects cannot show up in game properly. Besides, the The Gourd of Oversized Dreams was made based on the Jitter of Wish (the one from Seasons), and Maxis/EA/Aspyr just modified the texture files making the CS download overlap with the original one from Seasons. So, we can actually use SimPE to clone the objects and then modify add back the objects to decoration category. The objects will be fine. Could someone understands me and knows how to use SimPE do this for us? My computer is not working properly and thus can't run SimPE...
