I've tried this before the site went through maintenance. It didn't work for me, all I experienced was some groovy colors, and bad graphics, though I might try it again to see if it works now.
EDIT: It didn't work. (Surprise, surprise >_>) However this time I got myself a pink flashing color in my Pleasantview neighborhood. Lol, I guess I don't have any juice on my graphics card at all! At least the flashing color disappeared as soon as I deleted the file. Thanks for your help anyway. It might help others.

My fish never show up on their own, but I find if I use the boolprop useshaders true, they show up. I think you have to do that and then re-enter the lot (not sure if you can do it from the neighborhood screen) but that always makes my fishies show.

That's exactly what this "fix" is. It's just a cheat file with that cheat in it and every time you start the game, that cheat will be activated even without you entering it. So, for me, I don't think that re-entering the lot is going to work. You can find more info about cheat files on this page: http://www.snootysims.com/cheatsindex.php?id=userstartup. Sorry if you already knew this info.
And welcome to the forum.
