|

This isn't 100% official content but I thought I'd post this for those interested.
A couple of content creators at www.modthesims2.com have taken the Life Stories exclusive objects and careers from Life Stories and converted the files for The Sims 2.
Objects:

Jobs:

Personally I like this content as I was disappointed to find that Life Stories had *exclusive* content which could have been quite easily implemented into The Sims 2 by Maxis (Particulary the new TV). Still I suppose it's just another of EA's ploys to get you to buy another pack for the sake of Sims exclusives. |

Hmm... So they have...
Well I'll leave the link up for a couple of days and if they don't put the items back up in the same or a different page, I'll remove it completely. |

I think they won't put them back, they said that they where prepared to remove all the objects if EA asks them to do it, you know because of copyright... |

Mmm... maybe. I have them all, I could contribute. Let's wait if they re-up them at MTS2. |

Yeah that's a possibility, however neither of the content's creators have announced anything officially at this time.
Real shame too since I was only able to download 3 of the object .rar files.
Wouldn't mind but in my case, I've bought Life Stories so it's not like I've not paid for the items. If only Maxis/EA could convert the new content officially for The Sims 2, that'd be nice.
And if EA are so interested in milking every possible penny from us...
They could easily restrict the downloads to people who have purchased Life Stories.
Not that the items wouldn't get shared at all.
But I bet something like that would increase the sales of Life Stories.
Or possibly even make a Life Stories "Stuff Pack" for The Sims 2.
Both are possibilities... But nothing's official until EA says so.
Just seems a shame to me to create all this great new content and then restrict it to Life Stories simply for the purpose of trying to shift more copies of Life Stories, however profits will always come before the loyal customers. |

Just a shame about the whole thing...
If EA pulled the plug on Life Stories then that essentially prevents anyone from doing the same with Pet Stories and Castaway Stories when they come out.
(Or if it doesn't prevent them... They'd have to distribute the material a lot quieter...) |

Yup, Paladin's got that right. If those stuff are to be distributed, it must be done in a quiet way. And I'm also wondering if Maxis will manage to stop people from extracting the files from their upcoming Stories packs.
FYI, most of the files from Life Stories were compatible with the original Sims 2 game. All you need to do is to look into the .package files and extract the relevant contents with a tool called SimPE. I've extracted some files from LS and made them into Sims 2 before and they just worked fine! Right now, I wish I had the time to do the same for the Life Stories walls, floors and roofs. |

the big question is...
will they change the packaging for pet stories and Castaway stories?
