Today EA opened up their new Sims 2 Store (http://thesims2store.ea.com) where you can by single objects or collections for Sims2 that are taken out of the expansion packs and the stuff packs.
Login works with standard EA account or EA Store account.
Upon first login 6 downloads are offered for free, 2 of which have not been released before in a stuff pack or expansion pack. These are a comfy chair (The Recalcitrant Recliner by Decorama Designs) and a formal dress (Green and Yellow Velvet Dress with Silver Lock) for adult females.
There are about a dozen further exclusive objects which can be bought for about 75-100 SimPoints each (500 SimPoints are 5$) and also about a dozen clothings for 75 SimPoints each. As they must be paid for, sharing them would be illegal, I suppose.
At the moments only US-American credit cards are accepted as payment, but possibilities for Europe will be prepared.
As the Recliner and the Dress mentioned above are free (you just need to login for free and can drag them into your EA downloadmanager), I suppose it is not illegal to share them.
So here they are, both in one rar-file.

Wow...
We both posted this news at the *exact* same time.
Thanks for uploading the downloads.
Personally I'd be interested to see if they work within someone's game in the manner that you've uploaded them.
Just if they do, it would make them far too easy to distribute for free.
Which is not the sort of thing that EA would overlook.
So can anyone let us know if they work in your game without downloading them via the EA Download Manager? |

I will try it, perhaps this evening, if I find the time.
I was surprised to find that my EA Downloadmanager installed a "Sims 2 Store Edition" without my doing something first (I did not even enter any financial data).
The two Item were than saved as packages in Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2 Store Edition.
I just copied them out of it.
Don't know why it happened, suppose the Downloadmanager didn't detect my British Sims2 Game which was installed from 4 CDs (1st edition!) |

| Perhaps that's by design to help prevent the easy distribution of objects. |

So, I just started my game and looked in the CAS. Took me a while to find it, as it is not marked with a custom star but with the logo of one of the stuff packs (orange circle with light green crystal, why that would be I don't know, perhaps it was created for a Stuff Pack but not included).
Nicely done dress, new mesh, the described silver lock is not painted on but a separate little thing attached to the figure.
The recliner was easier to find. It looks also quite nice and comes in 3 recolours. |

You can get 6, but 4 of them are already included in the Expansion Packs and the Stuff Packs. As I have them all, I saw no point in downloading these 4.
I'd be more interested in the other Exclusives that they sell, but there is no possibility for Europeans at the moment. |

Sadly the European like me can't buy the Art Deco & Cubic exclusive collections.
US/Canada only

The logo on the clothing is the one that has been created for Sims Store downloads, it matches the icon for the new .exe that is installed with Sims Store.
All clothing for Sims Store downloaded content looks like it will be stored between the clothing installed with Teen Style Stuff and FreeTime. Probably due to the way the new store's content has been developed.
(And developed pre-FreeTime apparently... Looks like EA have had this up their sleeve *long* before they put their survey onto the official website.)
Notice that there's no post-Teen Style Stuff objects on the Sims Store website, therefore logically I assume they've placed the items there so that all newer expansion and stuff content is installed in front of the downloaded content for whatever reason that Maxis decided it should be.
Probably due to Maxis wanting the post-Teen Stuff to stay "exclusive" for a little longer to persuade people to buy the whole expansions/stuff packs.

Ah, that explains it.
But that is only on the dress, the recliner has a normal custom star.
